<DIV><SPAN class=657210700-24112006><FONT face=Arial size=2>Well it has been a
busy year and next year proves to be just as busy with an Internationals
Regatta, on West River planned for Thanksgiving weekend. None of these
events would ever take place if it weren't for the incredibly industrious
executive, running around behind the scenes, all year round when others are
dreaming of Sugar Plum Fairies!! I'd like to take this opportunity to
welcome some new enthusiastic members to our executive: Allan Measor who will be
responsible for the schedule, Stephanie Mah will take over the Training
portfolio and anticipates holding another Woman's training weekend and something
great for race training in preparation for the Internationals, Cathy Ann White
will be the secretary even though she is currently bed ridden because of knee
surgery (lesson to all...forget surfing and stick to Albacores), Sandy
Swiatlowski is back after a one year sabbatical to bring us another successful
Canadians Regatta, Ann Savege will be filling the big boots of the past
Commodore with her level headedness. Back for more is the Roth family
(Jason as Treasurer and George as Chief Measurer and all things to do with
little blue cards and meeting class rules) David Weaver the "Godfather" who is
our Chief Specifications Chair and has been busy for the last few months, with a
team to rewrite class rules to conform to ISAF standards, Christine
has reduced her load this year (NOT) but will be responsible for Shackles and
Cringles still, so keep those photos and articles coming, Janet Duff membership
and laughs at large, Henry Pedro looks after promotions including the Boat Show
and our website. What a team!!! If there is anything you would like to suggest,
we're all ears just drop us a note our contact info is on the website. (<A

<DIV><SPAN class=657210700-24112006><FONT face=Arial size=2>Its a small world
and the Albacore world is even smaller. Unlike many of our past
Commodores, I didn't come into sailing until I was in my 30's, but hardly a
month goes by when I don't meet someone who either learned how to sail in an
albacore, or has one at the cottage, heck I even meet people who have been
excellent racers in our fleet, while I'm on the dance floor!! The numbers of new
members continues to increase and the knowledge and level of racing gets better
each year. There are so many friends, world wide that I have met through
this crazy old sport, that make me feel welcome whether I'm in England where
"water" just sounds so much nicer , or our friends to the south who marvel at
the number of Albacores on a Friday night race course. So get out to as many
events as you can, there should be no excuse for travelling, since many trailers
are available, some people are even willing to billet us, stinky clothes and
all, but more over the ever lasting friendships and experiences are second to
none.</FONT></SPAN></DIV>
