Thanks to everyone who provided feedback on the schedule (Moxie, Magic Bus,
Elise, Peaches, Get Happy!!, Wile E Coyote, New Wave, Xena, Ergo, Motorcycle
Irene, Salty Hotel). There was a lot of conflicting input, so it was
difficult to satisfy everyone, however, the races below all had good support
and most of them are traditional Express 27 events. They also spread across
the calendar well and offer a wide variety of venues and types of racing.
Here is the proposed Express 27 schedule for 2007:

Any events that aren't strictly buoy races count both towards the Season
Championship as well as for a separate Long Distance trophy.
This schedule offers two double-handed races, two ocean races, two traveling
events (Ditch run and Huntington Lake), and a good mix of buoy and long
distance racing. Note that several Southern California Express 27s are
likely to attend Huntington Lake.
There is a pretty good spread across the calendar with generally 2 race
weekends per month, though a bit heavy in July and lighter after August. We
will try to put the RYC Sport Boat regatta in September-I didn't have the
dates yet.
There is no official "pre-nationals" regatta. For those wanting to get
familiar with the Nationals race area, the TYC Brothers/Sisters regatta is
being held on Wednesday, July 4th (just before our Nationals). This is not
a buoy race, but is held by TYC in the same general area.
About half the folks who chimed in thought the Nationals should count for
the season, and half thought they shouldn't count. Perhaps we could have a
quick vote at the Spring Keel event / party.
If you have strong opinions about the above schedule, feel free to send them
my way and if a bunch of folks feel the same way we can try to make further
changes.
Thanks,
Brendan
