Subject: Tomales Bay Regatta - come on up!
Vanguardians-
Here's the latest news on the Season Counter Tomales Bay Regatta 2006, taking place next weekend:
Who:
We have 7 boats signed up, plus at least one person (Page) looking for a ride: http://vanguard15.org/schedule/283. A few others have mentioned to me they want to go so please sign up on the site!
Where:
Inverness Yacht Club - http://www.invernessyachtclub.org/. We'll be staying at Samuel P. Taylor State Park (http://www.parks.ca.gov/?page_id=469) which is on the way there, about 15-20 minutes away from the yacht club. We have campsites reserved for Friday and Saturday night so come up Friday after work. This is the place we stayed 2 years ago.
The BBQ at the club worked out well last year. Plus, depending on what people want to do, we may also work in a trip to the Tomales Bay Oyster Company to shuck some oysters after racing.
Trailers:
Once I fix my flat trailer tire, someone can clamshell with me on my trailer (plan to pack up Thursday or Friday afternoon at TI). If you have an extra spot on your trailer, please speak up - I know that at least Amy (oxbowamy at yahoo.com) was looking for a clamshell ride.
Race Committee:
I'll bring our marks from TI. A few people have volunteered to rotate in and out running races. What we do need is a committee boat (otherwise we will run them off the pier). So if you know of, or have access to anything that floats located at Inverness YC, please let me know. (Or Kevin, can we still use that red inflatable from the GFU regatta?)
