These events help us engage new youth sailors in our programs and enable us to support 75% or more on scholarship. National Safe Boating Week Event
Saturday, May 22
11:00am - 4:00pm
Event Details: Treasure Island Sailing Center (TISC) wants to make sure families have an enjoyable and safe experience on the water this season. On Saturday, May 22, TISC is hosting a local event on the San Francisco Bay to help educate the public about simple practices for water safety. Local organizations will be on hand to provide proper life jacket fit, vessel safety checks, and safe boating information. Watch a Coast Guard rescue demonstration and get information on TISC sailing classes and scholarship programs. Free admission and the first 100 visitors receive a free life jacket!! Enjoy music, activities, and free boat rides. BBQ lunch is available for $5. Participating organizations include: Coast Guard Auxiliary, SFPD Marine Unit, SFFD, American Red Cross, and US Power Squadron. Click here to view the NSBW event poster for details.
Volunteer Details: We would appreciate volunteers in shifts for the positions listed below. We welcome volunteers for any length of time. Please email info at tisailing.org with your time availability and your job position preference.
Volunteer Shifts:
Set Up: 8:30am - 11:00am
AM Shift 10:30am - 1:30pm
PM Shift 1:30am - 4:30pm
Clean Up: 4:00pm - 6:30pm

Giants Game
Friday, June 11
5:00pm - 7:00pm
Volunteer for 3 hours and you get FREE admission to the game! Game begins at 7:15 Giants vs. Oakland A's.Treasure Island Sailing Center will have an information booth at the Giants game to promote our class registration and scholarship programs. We need 2-3 volunteers to encourage new youth and adults to sail! We will provide a brief overview prior to the event. Please email info at tisailing.org if you are interested.
Summer Sailstice
Saturday, June 19
9:00am-8:00pm
Summer Sailstice brings together everyone who loves wind, water and sailing! Sail in, motor in, or just come down for a full weekend of sailing, cruising, racing, windsurfing and onshore entertainment. Click here for more information on Summer Sailstice
Treasure Island Sailing Center will have an information booth at the Sailstice event at the Treasure Island Yacht Club at the front of the cove. We need 8 volunteers to help encourage new youths and adults to learn how to sail! We will provide a brief overview prior to the event.
2 Volunteers per time shift needed. 9:00am-12:00pm, 12:00pm-3:00pm, 3:00pm-6:00pm, 6:00pm-8:00pm. Please email info at tisailing.org with your availability.

If you do not have the time to volunteer please consider making a tax deductible donation to the Sponsor a Sailor Program.
By contributing to the Sponsor a Sailor Program, you will help TISC involve children who would not ordinarily have access to sailing by providing the opportunity for scholarships and a chance to develop life skills they might not otherwise learn in areas of teamwork, leadership and critical thinking.
$100 sponsors a sailor for one week of half -day sailing classes
$200 sponsors a sailor for one week of all-day sailing classes.
$500 sponsors a sailor for Beginner I through Intermediate Sailing
