Summer Learning Day
*Friday June 21*
TISC partners with the Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF) to
promote learning while on summer vacation. Students compete in fun,
educational activities such as nautical terminology games, relay races and
knot tying (and untying) contests. We focus on promoting education
extra-curricular activities during the summer


If you are interested in volunteering your time at any of these great

       *Center News*
 Summer is not quite here yet, but that doesn't stop us from getting out on
the water any way we can!  Here's whats going on at TISC lately:


   - We will have our second Blind Sailing Day of the year in partnership
   with the Marin Sailing School for the Blind this weekend.  This program
   brings together visually impaired individuals with seasoned sailors for a
   liberating day on the water.  We are always looking to broaden our
   community of sailing sighted guides.  If you want to help out, e-mail
   programs at tisailing.org to sign up for a training day before you join us.



   - We were lucky to host the American Youth Sailing Force on Sunday April
   28.  The American Youth Sailing Force is the challenger for the 2013 Youth
   America's Cup.  They will be competing on AC45s just before the pros this
   September.  3 team members came to TISC to talk to our youth sailors about
   hard work and how they made it to the top.  We even got some special guest
   coaching!  Wow!



   - As the school-year is winding down and the weather gets (even) nicer,
   we will be seeing more and more boats out on the water with youth groups
   from the city and the greater Bay Area.  Many of these under-resourced
   youth have never been out on a boat before and, as you all are well aware,
   a relaxing day on the water can really change your perspective on things.
    The work that our community partners do for these youth is invaluable to
   our community as whole.  If you know of a youth group that would benefit
   from a day on the water or if you want to help out, let us know!
