Hi fleet,
Adam and I are hoping to sail at the Bradford Island regatta this weekend
but our childcare situation fell through.
So we're looking for:
- *Crew/driver! *If we get a third team member, then Adam and I can switch
out to babysit and you can sail with one of us.
- *Babysitting! *spend about 3 hours sat and 2 hours sunday with Tom, our
sweet almost-one-year old. We will pay in cash, beers, whatever you like.
- *Other ideas!* Share your babysitter, etc.
We're hoping to figure this out tomorrow night so we know whether to load
up or not...

*Coming and going*: Access to Bradford Island is by car ferry only. The
ferry schedule is a little eccentric. Keep in mind that they will take as
many cars as are lined up, the trip is only ~10min and they will make
multiple trips if necessary. The current ferry schedule is:
*Monday through Friday* the ferry picks up Bradford Island visitors every
hour on the hour from 8am to 5pm with the exception of 12pm.(lunch break)
*Saturday hours:* 8am, 9am and 10 am, 11am only.
*Sunday hours:* 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm only.
*Ferry Tickets*: You need to stop by the Gas & Save to buy a round trip
ferry ticket (~$15) to Bradford Island. The Gas & Save is on the way to
the Ferry dock: 1541 East Cypress Road, Oakley, CA 94561.
*Racing:* Starts at 1300 on Saturday. Plan is 1.5 hours on the water, break
for snacks, another 1.5 hours. End racing around 1700. Flexible based on
desires of competitors.
On Sunday we plan to get in ~2 hours of racing starting at 11. We have to
be off the island by 1500 (last ferry), and plan to leave ~2 hours for
packing up boats.
*Entry fee:* $35
*Food: *There are 2 large grills that BVBC will provide propane for. We
will need to go potluck style on Saturday night (to be coordinated). We
also need to bring potable water (I will be sure to have several extra
gallons).
*Camping: *Tons of nice soft grass for everyone. Bring your tent.
*Boat Transport: *Let's have boats packed up and ready to go after sailing
on Thursday. Steve and I currently plan to take the 3 boat trailer up
Friday afternoon. I would suggest trying to make the 1100 ferry on
saturday if you aren't coming friday afternoon. I would hate for someone
to miss the noon ferry and not be able to get out to the island if they
took a wrong turn. Between the 3 boat trailer, two cartops, and two
clamshells we should have the transportation we need right now.
