<div dir="ltr"><div>Hey everyone,</div><div><br></div><div>The US Match Racing Championship Committee (USMRCC) created a proposal regarding female participation in the sport, and I thought that the V15 fleet would have some interesting feedback.</div><div><br></div><div>The proposal mandates at least 1 male and 1 female on each team in their qualifiers and championships. They are looking for feedback in a quick survey: <a href="https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7J2X7RQ">https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/7J2X7RQ</a></div><div><br></div><div>Here's some additional information from the committee:</div><div><i>This proposal is in line with the global effort to increase opportunities for women to compete at the highest levels of the sport, including the Olympics and the Volvo Ocean Race. The Intercollegiate Match Racing Championship currently requires at least one female be on each team, and it was recently voted to require teams in the 2017 U.S. Youth Match Racing Championship (USYMRC) to have at least one female and one male on each boat.</i></div><div><br></div><div>It sounds like there's been arguments on both sides for the proposal, but I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the matter.</div><div>Feel free to take the survey and send out any thoughts to the group!</div><div><br></div><div>Cheers,</div><div>Drew</div><div><br></div>-- <br><div class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div>Drew Shea</div><div>224.216.8760 I <a href="mailto:donald.a.shea@gmail.com" target="_blank">donald.a.shea@gmail.com</a> </div></div></div>
