Regarding the Plastic Classic/Lipton conflict. According to the
PICYA folks, the LIPTON has always been the 3rd weekend in July and
the Plastic Classic was originally some other weekend, but was moved
on top of the LIPTON. YRA discussed the conflict with both the BVBC
and PICYA, but neither has been willing to move their regatta. As
long as this impasse exists, there will continue to be a conflict for
these two regattas.
I don't know what you mean by a Juniors' Admiral's Cup? Instead of
adult teams or an additional regatta? I also don't understand how a
Junior Nationals would work????
According to PICYA, the Admiral's Cup was invented specifically for
Santana 22s and for many years was either restricted to, or only
sailed by Tunas. At some point that changed.
