Tunas,
Althought I'm no longer an official fish, I maintain a healthy interest in
Fleet #1. I want to thank Michael for serving as Fleet Captain and
welcome Tom as the new Captain. I look forward to seeing Tom at ODCA/YRA
meetings representing the boats in YRA.
I've also been asked to remind Santanas on the Marin side of the Bay that
there are two Mid-Winter Series close to home. The Sausalito YC's
Mid-Winters are the first Sunday of each month - November thru March, with
a buoy race followed by food back at the club. The first race is this
coming Sunday, so you need to go to and get signed up. I know Leah and
Cathy are already.
The second Mid-Winters are the CYC on the 3rd weekend in Jan/Feb. I know
this conflicts with the EYC Jack Frost and I don't want to pull boats away
from the chosen Fleet #1 Mid-Winter series, but if you are not planning on
the J.F., then you might consider the CYC. Variuous race courses using
mostly fixed buoys, with a party back at the CYC (dinner/band/raft up in
their harbor).
Thanks,
Pat Broderick
YRA Chair

I am pleased to share with you that Tom Montoya, owner of Meliki, has
agreed to take over as Fleet Captain for Santana 22 Fleet 1. Tom is a
distinguished sailor and will be an energetic leader of our Fleet.
Thank you to those of you who assisted me as Fleet Captain, particularly
to those of you who worked with me to put together our recent National
Championship Regatta held out of the Corinthian Yacht Club; I feel it was a
great success.
Please join me in congratulating Tom and in supporting his leadership of
our Fleet.
Warm regards,
Michael Andrews
