Just a quick shout out to Tom and all who had a part in organizing the
Santana 22 Nationals this weekend. I and my crew had a wonderful time.
As a newbie racer, it's a touch intimidating entering a 'nationals'
competition, but the reality couldn't have been further from the truth. We
had a great time duking it out in the second half of the pack with the other
crews who were all clearly having a great time. This is a generous and
accomodating fleet and I loved how willing everyone was to share advice,
beer and even a tow!
Big thanks to Michael and the Bonito crew who risked making the start to
come back and tow us out of the estuary when the fuel tank almost fell off
my 40 year old motor!
Sorry I couldn't join for the awards ceremony at the end, but I had a flight
to Atlanta to catch. See you next year, and hopefully many times before too.
