I have ancient Barient 10 winches on the cabin top, which sometimes need to be disassembled and lubed to work. West Marine has a 2 for 1 sale on ALL Lewmar winches, so I could get a pair of Lewmar 7s for about $200, plus labor of course. Labor is a bit more because I’d have to switch from 5 holes to 4, which to me implies a backing plate.
Any advice on whether I should upgrade? The Lewmar are about 1/4” bigger in every dimension. BTW all Lewmar winch handles are also 2 for 1 in case you’re interested. But all this just through tomorrow(Monday the 9th).
