Thanks for the 411. There are only 3 reasons why I’d upgrade my winches: 1-the old ones are frozen. 2-the new ones are significantly lighter. 3-it’s less expensive to buy new then to get drums re-sandblasted.
But the big deterrent for me would be having a different bolt pattern. As you know, the mounting of the winches is structural. You’d have to move the bolting pattern a few inches to maintain their structural integrity.
