<DIV>Well, I got Carlos for 3500 including lots of good old sails (Pariah used one of them to beat me in Nationals, remember), a motor and a trailer, though that was 7 yrs ago.  I still think one can get a race-ready boat for 3K, but one probably needs to spend at least 5K (and a lot of one's own labor) to get a Nationals-winning boat.</DIV>

<DIV>How about we don't try to tell people how much to pay for a used boat, just let the "Best Bang for the Buck on the Bay" speak for itself.</DIV>
