It's been straightened out over the trailer tire a couple of times but I like that it's nice and light. I carry the spin pole down below as a backup (thus negating the weight savings of the skinnier whisker pole-I never said it made sense). There is a fair amount of compression, but the biggest danger is overzealous foredeck crew mangling it in a gybe.</DIV>

We felt the 1-1/4" pole we <BR>bought first was too bendy even for cruising. The plastic ends on the <BR>later Forespar are not IMHO as smooth as the older metal ones.<BR><BR>Also, all that compression makes adjustables marginal.
