<font color="black" size="2" face="arial">I have a very heavy 4-stroke, 6 hp. Probably the heaviest option. I knew my old 6-hp, 2-stroke really pushed the boat well. Thus, when it died I bought a new 6hp four stroke, only 6hp available. Bottom line, the boat does not need that motor, nor does my back! If I were doing it again, I would likely buy a 4hp or 3.5.</font></div>

The motor, fuel and (if necessary) ballast together must weigh not less than 50
and not more than 125 pounds.

Keep in mind that the class rules require the motor to weigh 50 lbs, or to have
corrector weights. Our old Johnson 2 stroke 6hp weighs just over, and pushes
the boat really fast. Heavy to take off the back, though. A 4 stroke is
heavier, so you may get to the same weight with a new 4HP

Thanks for the tow the other week. I'm thinking it might be time to retire
the 30yr old 2-stroke and plump for a nice modern outboard. You looked to be
using a fairly low-hp motor on yours.... 4hp, or was it less?
Any recommendations on buying outboards that would work well for a Tuna?
