Mark Langer Captain of the S-22 Hot Tuna brought up the Fact that there is a very large discrepancy between the weights going from boat to boat at the Santana 22 National meeting this past July in Santa Cruz.
Since stock weights of Santana 22's can vary by several 100 lbs. Depending on how the boats were constructed. Mark proposed that instead of adding or subtracting lead or other object for engine, toilet and other weights.
Each S-22 should be measured and reported to the Bylaws or appropriate committee so we can equalize this weight issue once and for all. Find a common standard of S-22 weight. Boats that are below this assigned weight must add the necessary ballast. Boats that are over they will not be required to do anything. Except perhaps to put their boat on a diet in order to become more competitive.
Sounds fair to me.

Also at this years Santana 22 Nationals in Santa Cruz the upcoming
2013 Santana 22 nationals was discussed but I cannot remember if there was a date or location. Does anyone have this info so I can put it on my calendar?

On Sep 18, 2012, at 10:14 AM, tuna-request@myfleet.org wrote:

> Send Tuna mailing list submissions to
> tuna@myfleet.org
>
> To subscribe or unsubscribe via the World Wide Web, visit
> http://myfleet.org/mailman/listinfo/tuna
> or, via email, send a message with subject or body 'help' to
> tuna-request@myfleet.org
>
> You can
