The problem with relying on the fuel weight (i.e. keeping enough fuel to satisfy the rule) is that it has to be in the aft lazarette which isn't helpful as ballast.</DIV>

So if you were to carry about 4 gallons of fuel, it would be sufficient.<BR><BR>I agree with Michael though, moving a 60 lb motor can be onerous, especially in a heavy breeze. <DIV>Yes; class rules say the motor (and corrector weights) have to be minimum 50 pounds. So a 28 pound motor would need 22 punds of lead mounted down below (best place would be at the base of the bulkhead below the base of the mast compression post)</DIV>
