Ahoy Matt,
I presume you will need some sort of race committee. Count me in. I might be
able to round up a small group to assist. Umpires? If yes, let me know asap
so I can pass the word to my contact list.
Super

Subject: NOR: TI Random Pairs Team Race, September 8
Notice of Race:
1st (?) Annual TI Random Pairs Team Race
September 8, 2007
Treasure Island Sailing Center
B.Y.O. V15
Report Time: 11:00 am
First Race: 12:00 am (sharp)
It was recently suggested that having a random pairs team race at TI would
be a great way to get a lot of people team racing in a unique and low-key
format (thanks for the great idea Archie).
For those of you who are unfamiliar with the format, random pairs team
racing is 2 vs. 2 team racing in which each boat is paired with a different
teammate and opponent for each race. After a number of rotations, boats will
be ranked according to winning percentage and top placers will advance to a
short Championship Round to determine a victor.
This is a great opportunity for experienced team racers looking to get
some boat-handling and boat-on-boat practice, as well as for people who
don't have a steady 3-boat team or are somewhat new to team racing
altogether. This will be a fun, casual day of racing on the cove with BBQ
and beverages to follow.
It is anticipated that a very modest entry fee will be required to offset
costs of food/beverage, etc (more details to follow).
It would be great to get a good turnout for what should be a very fun day
of sailing. Please signup on the V15 website if you will be participating:

If you have any questions, please feel free to get in touch with me.
See you on the water,
Matt Hooks
