I remember starting with a SS ring that was too small and it got stuck on the hoist hook.
It was pretty easy to tie 3 bowlines and adjust so the bow is a little lower than stern. We also used a carabiner to grab the hiking strap tie lines at the rear. Then we tied to the shroud pins forward.
Good luck.

Angela, there are a few people in the fleet who launch via a hoist. Copying the local fleet to get their thoughts.
Best regards,

Hi Al,
We just purchased a used V15 (892) and we are planning on storing it at Alameda Marina because we live aboard here. Do you know anyone with experience with launching their V15 with the mast up( or any similar dinghy) using a hoist? I know I can design/make a sling, but if someone out there already has done it, I would love to talk to them.
We have the option of storing at Encinal or using the Grand Ave ramp, but it would much more convenient to launch with the hoist here if possible.
Thanks in advance,
Jeff and Angela Brantley
