Thank you for your letter. This upcoming Commission meeting will be the
Commissioners' first exposure to this project. This meeting and the next
are exactly where these types of concerns should be raised. We will enter
your letter into the record and point out there is a public comment portion
of the meeting this Wednesday. A court reporter will transcribe all
comments which will be public and on the record to inform the Commissioners
in their advice and comment. I would also mention that this project will
need to secure permits and you may want to intervene in those processes
which will determine whether this project can go forward. DBW is being
asked for funding if it does go forward. Again, thank you for commenting.

Dear Ms Sadler -
It has been brought to my attention that there is a vote happening this
week about a loan for the development of the cove into a large marina for
big yachts.
I just wanted to let you know that the cove is a treasure as it is and this
project will destroy the cove for its current uses as a protected anchorage
and venue for small sailboat (dinghy) racing and classes. TISC runs classes
for low income children and handicapped people (among others) in the cove.
It is one of the few spots on the bay with consistent wind yet flat water.
I have enjoyed sailing in the cove since 1998 when the Vanguard 15 fleet
made TISC its home.
http://vanguard15.org
I think the existing marina could safely double in size without significant
impact, but the proposed scale would block wind and increase traffic way
too much. It would also fill up a good portion of the sailing area.
If you have any questions about why Clipper Cove is very special for small
boats please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Sarah Deeds
