Hey Santana 22 Women!
The Island YC's Sadie Hawkins Regatta is scheduled for February 24 on
the Estuary. Entry and SIs on their website <www.iyc.org>. Click on
"Race Info"
This is a woman skipper/full crew race, so you can bring the anchor
along as crew (that would be me). Last year Leah and Heidi sailed.
Leah's bringing "Elaine" over again this year. It would be great to
have 5+ Tunas entered.
So if you're a woman skipper, plan to enter your boat. If you're a
man skipper, hand the tiller over to that faithful crew woman who's
been putting up with your courteous commands for the past year and
give her a chance to exercise her lungs. "Sheet! Sheet! Sheet!"
"Pole Back!" "Traveler Down!" "Butt on the rail!"
Last year we sailed white sails. It's great Estuary sailing - flat
water, moderate winds, great competition and fun. Let's do it again
this year.
The IYC has it's "Chili Cook-Off" later that afternoon, so you can
stick around and get heartburn after the races.
By the way, if you haven't discovered page 30 in the "2007 Northern
California Sailing Calendar and YRA Master Schedule" please get a
copy and check it out. It's an almost-complete listing of Women's
Sailing Events for 2007, beginning with the IYC Sadie Hawkins Regatta
(which is appropriate since it's the oldest Women's Race around.
Thanks,
Pat
