Jean,
If the hunk of cast iron presents a national security issue, Homeland
Security is the agency. I can just see Richardson Bay yellow
ribboned off; roadblocks on Tiburon Blvd.; lots of tough looking guys
in sun glasses (no matter how overcast and foggy) with ugly looking
weapons. No simple tow truck to haul the suspected item out of the
mud; instead a giant Chinook helicopter thump thumping overhead --
not to speak of the Blue Angels (loaded guns and rockets this time!)
zooming back and forth at tree-top level. The Feds would probably
haul it to a hazardous waste dump in Nevada. Total cost to us chump
taxpayers: several millions of dollars.
I think I'll go sailing instead -- perhaps the Rites of Spring? Or
IYC Lightship Race?
See you out for the final SYC Mid-Winter race this coming Sunday. So
far NOAA's got Saturday at 5 - 15 NW winds. Perhaps we'll get lucky
on Sunday and have enough wind to really sail for once. Lots better
that the CYC February weekend I hope.
