Hey Bay Area Tunas,
Here's a list of upcoming SF Bay races. Wanna talk about getting
that minimum 5 boats together for a Division? Notice that most are
shorthanded since those races are scheduled early in the season.
Jan. 19/20 CYC Mid-Winters - we have 3 boats signed up; we need 2
more! We'll sail non-spinnaker/class jib if we get 5 boats.
Jan. 26 SSS 3-Bridge Fiasco (singlehanded or doublehanded -
spinnaker/non-spinnaker - PHRF less than 5, One Design 5 or more)
Feb. 16/17 CYC Mid-Winters - as I said for January, we have 3 boats
and need 2 more for a division.
Feb. 23 IYA Sadie Hawkins (women's skipper) Race on the Estuary
(full crew, woman skipper, spinnaker and non-spinner PHRF Divisions)
This is a perfect race for Estuary boats. I know at least one
Sausalito boat is heading over, too. If we can get 5 boats it's a
One Design Div.
Feb. 24 Santana 22 Fleet #1 New Year's Party - Bay View Boating Club
March 15 IYC Doublehanded Lightship Race (doublehanded ocean racing
out and around the light bucket - spinnaker) Last year we had 3 boats
and finished 1-2-3 in Division!
March 22 OYC Rites of Spring (doublehanded race) Last year we had 5
boats and sailed non-spinnaker
March 29 BAMA Doublehanded Farallones Race - doublehanding your
first Farallones Race isn't a bad way to begin.
April 26 SSS Singlehanded Farallones Race
The 2008 YRA/Latitude 38 N. California Racing magazine is out and can
be picked up at Swensens, WM, yacht clubs, and other marine oriented
places. Get your copy to day and begin to schedule your 2008 racing
season today!
In the meantime, if you have questions about any of these races (I've
done them all!) please email me.
