Fleet #1 and others,
I want to follow up on Jan's email with some additional information.
1. March 22 Rites of Spring (OYC): Yes, Fleet #1 sails this with
white sails, so it's a very good intro to sailing your Tuna
shorthanded. Entry Form at the bottom of this email. We need 5
entries for our own Start and Division. The NOR and other
information is on the Oakland YC's website.
If you have (or REALLY intend to entry) please send me an email to
that effect. If we get our own division you will not need a 2008
PHRF Certificate for this race.
As of 11:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 13 only Dominatrix and Elaine
have sent in their entries.
2. April 9 and May 3/4: Kame's Vallejo talk is a great opportunity
for Vallejo Racers to find out how to sail the race; the pizza offer
also sounds tempting!
But more important is getting registered for the race itself. As of
4:00 on Thursday, March 13 the following have signed up for YRA:
Auggie, Betty Boop, Bonito, Elaine, Inshallah, Rubber Biscuit,
Usquebugh (7 boats). I know it's early, but that's less than the
show of hands at the recent Santana Fleet #1 Meeting. By my count
there should be 12 to 14 boats headed up toward Vallejo on May 3.
The longer you wait, the less likely it is you'll sign up -- I know
the feeling.
You can sign up today via the Internet by going to <yra.org> using
your credit card.
