Hi there,
In all my years sailing out of Berkeley, I have always been told that
the only safe place to go through the pier is at the end of the
maintained fishing pier.It is safe there and I cross there whenever I
am going south. But I have never even heard of people trying to cross
elsewhere.

Megan.
