Dear Tuna Skippers,

A big thank you for IYC for hosting our fleet dinner, where our 2014 fleet champion Garth Copenhaver used the trophy to serve punch to all! Congratulations to Garth, who won the white sails season in a convincing fashion. We had a very nice dinner in Octoberfest style, with some tall tales of the last season and plenty of drinks to celebrate. The fleet had a fun and successful season with some very tight racing and great sportsmanship from all skippers.

Jennifer McKenna was awarded with the sportmanship award for all her hard work as co-fleet captain and in maintaining the website. A big thank you to Jennifer for being a great co-fleet captain and welcome to Garth as the new co-fleetcaptain.

Garth is working with the CYC to organize next years' nationals at Knox. 2015 seems to be the 50th anniversary of something in the conception of the Santana 22 on a napkin, the conversation between Gary Mull and Tom Schock in the StFYC men's room, and/or the building of the first Tuna. So we'll try to make the nationals 2015 a big happening.

For mid winters we will continue the success of the Jack Frost Series from EYC. The Tunas have sailed this series for the past few years under white sails with a great turn out. This is a well run series where the RC will do their best to find some wind and adjusts the course to the conditions. We'll get our own start if we get enough boats signed up.

The Great Pumpkin Race is coming up with 3 buoy races on Saturday 25 Oct and a pursuit race on Sunday 26 Oct and will be sailed with white sails this year. Please join the fun and sign up here http://www.richmondyc.org/Calendar/Event/13823~623285~1/Great-Pumpkin-Regatta

Thank you all for a great season and looking forward to seeing you out on the water,

your co-fleet captains for 2015,
Garth Copenhaver "Oreo" 5044 and Anna Alderkamp "Byte Size" 801
